CLEANUP & CATCH-UP BOOKKEEPING
CATCH-UP BOOKKEEPING FOR CONTRACTORS.
Behind, tangled, or never really set up. We specialize in cleanup and getting you current — no judgment.

HOW BOOKS FALL BEHIND
IT HAPPENS TO GOOD CONTRACTORS.
Clean-up bookkeeping for contractors is how a company months or years behind gets tax-ready books: we rebuild the records in QuickBooks Online, fix the job costing, then keep them current with monthly bookkeeping.
Nobody falls behind on their books because the work was going badly. It happens because the work was going well and the paperwork lost the race.
However far back it goes, the first step is the same: find out what is actually there.
-
NEVER PROPERLY SET UP
The business grew out of a spreadsheet and a bank app, and a real chart of accounts never got built.
-
YOUR BOOKKEEPER LEFT
Somebody stopped answering, or handed back a file nobody has been able to make sense of since.
-
YOU HAVE BEEN DOING IT
Between quoting, running crews and getting paid, the books became the thing that waited until Sunday and then did not happen.
-
A DEADLINE ARRIVED
A filing, a bonding request or a lender wants figures, and the figures are not ready to give anybody.
WHAT THE WORK LOOKS LIKE
FROM A MESS TO A CLEAN CLOSE.
Cleanup is a defined job with an end to it. Here is what it consists of, in the order it happens.
-
WE LOOK FIRST
We go through what exists—the file, the bank records, the open months—before anybody quotes anything.
-
YOU SEE THE SCOPE
How far back it goes and what it takes to close it, agreed before the work starts—not discovered halfway through.
-
THE BOOKS GET REBUILT
Accounts reconciled, transactions categorized correctly, and costs put back onto the jobs they belong to.
-
EVERY MONTH CLOSES
Each open period is shut properly, so the year adds up and the numbers stop moving after the fact.
-
YOU GET REAL REPORTS
Tax-ready books and statements that mean something—the point of the exercise, not a by-product of it.
AFTER THE CLEANUP
CURRENT IS THE START, NOT THE FINISH.
Cleanup ends with books that are current. Keeping them that way is the monthly service, and it is where every cleanup goes — the backlog is the first month of the work, not a job that stands on its own.
Clean-up is the start of monthly bookkeeping, not a one-off. Once the books are current we keep them that way, in QuickBooks Online, every month.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
WHAT IF I DON’T HAVE EVERYTHING?
Almost nobody does, and it is rarely the obstacle people expect. Bank and card statements carry most of a year on their own, and we work from those first.
Whatever the books are in now — Desktop, a spreadsheet, a shoebox, or a QuickBooks Online file somebody else set up — we’ll get the cleanup done in QuickBooks Online, which is the only accounting platform we support.
